Drainage & Infrastructure Works – South Drive, Basingstoke
At South Drive in Basingstoke, Hampshire, we carried out a comprehensive programme of drainage improvement and infrastructure works. The project was designed to enhance water management, upgrade existing utilities, and ensure compliance with local authority drainage standards.
Removal of Existing Headwalls
Outdated headwalls were dismantled and removed from site for safe disposal. The ditch was reshaped to restore functionality and improve long-term drainage flow.
Installation of New Headwalls
We installed Type 3 headwalls in line with HCC/10/D/100 Standard Detail for gully outlet pipes, as well as bag headwalls where appropriate. This provided robust, durable, and compliant drainage solutions.
Excavation & Waste Disposal
All excavation arisings, including tree roots and spoil, were responsibly removed and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
Footway Improvements
By using wooden edgings instead of concrete, as agreed on site, the new footway was given a more natural and sustainable finish.
Utility Upgrades
Outdated BT covers were replaced with new, durable covers to improve safety, accessibility, and service coordination.

A modern, efficient drainage system now ensures improved water flow and reduced risk of flooding,
New headwalls provide long-term durability and meet Hampshire County Council standards,
BT cover replacements improved access and safety for future utility maintenance,
Sustainable wooden edgings created a more environmentally friendly finish for the footway.
