It is our policy to place the highest priority on Health and Safety of all people and also recognise that our workers are our most valuable asset. We are committed to the provision of a safe and healthy working environment, which extends to the protection of the public, property and the environment. We take a zero-tolerance attitude to unsafe practices and are committed to the prevention of injury and ill health. Safety is always the first consideration with respect to all our operations and services.

Our commitment to Health and Safety is demonstrated by maintaining an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System which meets the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 standard. Our OH&S management system ensures we take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all workers, contractors, customers, visitors and the general public from any injury due to our activities while also complying with all statutory requirements, regulations and approved codes of practice dealing with health and safety where applicable to our activities.

We aim for the continued development of a positive Safety Culture within the workplace to help maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all persons. All workers are encouraged to document and report incidents / near misses and to suggest safer ways of working. These reports will be investigated with the aim of preventing problems occurring and Management will endeavour to eliminate hazards and reduce risks where recognised.

To further eliminate hazards and risks we operate an ongoing programme of risk assessments and inspections and will constantly review any findings to determine the adequacy of controls in place to eliminate hazards and reduce OH&S risks.

All Management functions will comply with our OH&S policies and procedures. Contracts Managers and Site Managers shall continually aim to promote a high standard of OH&S and as a minimum shall provide: –

  • Adequate information, instruction, supervision & training as necessary to ensure the health and safety of all employees, operatives and Sub-contractors.
  • Sustainable and achievable performance targets to maintain ‘best practice’ for Health and Safety.
  • Places of work that are safe and without risk to health.
  • Safe systems of work.
  • Maintenance, care and attention to all plant and equipment to minimise injury to employees, operatives, Sub-contractors or other persons.
  • Sufficient resources to ensure the requirements of all current legislation and the HSM can be achieved and maintained.

All workers should perform their duties properly and in accordance with OH&S policies, procedures, instructions and rules. All individuals working on behalf of the company will be informed of their OH&S obligations.

This policy is reviewed at intervals not exceeding 12 months and we are committed to the continuous improvement of Health & Safety performance and management. Health & Safety Objectives and targets are set and reviewed at least annually during management review.
