Pavenet were appointed to deliver a fully compliant diesel generator delivery facility for Southern Water within a live operational treatment works environment.

The project involved the construction of a new diesel delivery area, associated containment systems, drainage infrastructure, and access modifications to support safe and efficient fuel deliveries while maintaining uninterrupted site operations.

Delivery Infrastructure

The works included the construction of a dedicated diesel delivery area complete with integrated bunded protection and a new access pathway connecting directly to the bulk fuel storage location. Security fencing was modified to accommodate the new fuel delivery route while maintaining site security and operational safety.

Mechanical & Drainage Systems

Pavenet installed a new interceptor tank complete with level indication and alarm systems, alongside a separator tank fitted with monitoring instrumentation. The project also included the installation of a 3-way interlock valve system, associated discharge controls, and new ducting infrastructure connecting the system back to the main building outstation.

Civil Engineering Works

Extensive excavation and groundworks were carried out to form the new bunded containment areas and delivery pathways. Additional works included drainage installations, valve chamber construction, kerbing, bollards, traffic calming measures, and the full reinstatement of all affected surfaces and roadways.

Live Site Delivery

Working within a fully operational treatment works environment required careful planning and coordination throughout the programme. Temporary access solutions were implemented to ensure continuous chemical deliveries to adjacent operational areas, allowing the site to remain fully functional while works progressed safely and efficiently.

The completed scheme provides Southern Water with a safe, durable, and fully compliant diesel delivery facility designed to support long-term operational resilience and environmental protection.
