“Quality Construction, Timeless dedication..”
We take pride in delivering high-quality roadworks and infrastructure solutions. This project involved a range of essential tasks to enhance the road infrastructure, including road widening, kerbing installation, drainage improvements, and complete surface preparation. Below, we walk you through the steps we took to ensure the successful delivery of this project.
Road Widening & Kerbing Installation
Our team started by marking and preparing the area for road widening, carefully identifying locations for new kerbing and drainage grips. We installed new concrete edgings and concrete-lined grips to improve both the structural integrity and water drainage of the road. This also included precise excavation to reduce the subbase to formation level, ensuring the road foundation was stable and ready for expansion.
Drainage Works
We implemented new drainage grips to improve water runoff and prevent future flooding. By accurately marking the locations for drainage channels, we ensured efficient water management that would prolong the road’s lifespan.
Utility Identification & Mapping
Before any excavation, we conducted thorough utility surveys using CAT, Genny, and GPR equipment to locate and map all existing underground utilities. This ensured that all utilities were accurately identified and marked up, preventing potential damage during excavation and maintaining essential services uninterrupted.
Excavation & Material Disposal
We saw cut, broke out, and excavated the existing carriageway and verge surfaces, removing materials down to formation level. All excavated materials were carefully disposed of at a licensed facility in accordance with environmental regulations. Our soil testing confirmed that no contaminated subsoil was present, which streamlined the disposal process.
Subbase & Surface Preparation
Once the excavation was complete, we installed Type 1 subbase and compacted cold binder layers to create a durable base for the road. After leveling and cutting the carriageway, we laid AC10 surface material to ensure a smooth and high-quality finish. To add further protection, we applied overbanding along joints to prevent cracking over time.
Final Touches: Seeding & Verge Restoration
The final phase included grading and topsoiling the verge areas to restore the landscape, followed by seeding to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding areas.
This infrastructure upgrade not only improves the road’s capacity and durability but also enhances safety and drainage. The combination of careful excavation, utility mapping, and precise surface preparation ensures that this road will serve its community for years to come.
