This project focused on the reconstruction of the southern footway along King Street, with a strong emphasis on modernizing the space and improving safety. The project scope included replacing outdated concrete slabs with durable granite paving, creating a smoother, more attractive surface for pedestrians, and installing a new cycle lane that integrates seamlessly with the footway.

Footway Reconstruction with Granite Paving

  • Granite Paving Installation: The existing concrete slabs were replaced with granite paving to create a more durable, aesthetic, and pedestrian-friendly surface. The new paving not only enhances the look of the street but also provides a smoother and more comfortable walking experience for pedestrians.

 Cycle Lane Installation

  • Raised Cycle Lane: A fresh new cycle lane was created alongside the footway, raised to the same level as the adjacent footpaths for seamless integration. This ensures a safer and more accessible route for cyclists, providing dedicated space that improves overall traffic flow.

Improved Drainage

  • New Gullies: As part of the improvements, new gullies were installed to enhance drainage, preventing water accumulation and keeping the footway and cycle lane clear and safe during wet weather.

Tactile Paving for Safety

  • Tactile Paving: The edge of the footway was outlined with tactile paving to improve visibility and awareness for both pedestrians and cyclists, ensuring that the area is safer for visually impaired users.

Street Furniture Relocation

  • Relocation & Rationalization: We carefully relocated and rationalized the existing street furniture to improve the overall layout. This not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the area but also ensured that the space was optimized for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a more comfortable and user-friendly environment.
