We were appointed to complete critical groundworks at Seven Trent’s Bishampton Sewage Treatment Works as part of an infrastructure upgrade focused on improving chemical dosing capabilities. Our scope of works included:
Construction of new concrete access roads
Installation of reinforced concrete hardstands and equipment bases,
Comprehensive drainage system installation,
Service ducting for utilities,
Installation of pump chambers, inspection chambers, manholes, and service pits
These upgrades supported the modernisation of the site’s chemical dosing system, enhancing operational performance and compliance with environmental standards.
Key Outcomes:
The groundworks package was successfully delivered on time and to specification, ensuring minimal disruption to the live operational sewage treatment facility. The installation of new concrete roads and hardstands has significantly improved site accessibility for maintenance vehicles and operational staff, supporting safer and more efficient movement around the site.
The precision construction of reinforced concrete bases has provided stable foundations for critical plant and equipment, ensuring long-term durability under heavy operational loads. The newly installed drainage system—including pump chambers, manholes, and inspection chambers—has greatly improved surface water management, reducing the risk of site flooding and helping maintain regulatory compliance.
The integration of service ducts and utility pits has streamlined future maintenance and upgrade works, providing clear access for electrical, water, and dosing pipework associated with the new chemical dosing system. As a result, the site now operates with improved dosing accuracy and control, contributing to enhanced water treatment performance and better protection of the surrounding environment.
